LOL a sausage roll or a coffee every week would be a better return than my P2P investments
Lol actually studying figures over the last 3 years I have a better return on investing £50 a month into my gas and electric bills than p2P, and certainly my solar is producing a far better return.

Dont want to rant on about green energy again but for someone who paid a premium to buy a house in the countryside, to now have the future being surrounded by a massive solar farm., 9 turbines and now the 3rd battery storage facility, I'm getting well pissed off that I'm paying more than the average for kw/h and the standing charge due to my location!! And no reduction in energy costs for the sacrifices made on my doorstep.
Getting off grid is definitely the way forward but not everyone has the ability to do so.

Highest Council tax in Wales £1477 on a band A, £2216 band D, practically no services, but we do have 33 councillors on £15K each, and like you we pay above average rates per kWh for gas and electric and high standing charges

My council tax is just under 3k. Potholes and no other services except bin collection. We are managing to keep daily energy consumption down to 5kw/h but still use oil and log burner.

Did the quiz, I will make about £3 with a partial battery dump, and the export will bring my bill for the day down to about 70p. and my saver sessions income to about £83.
in effect that £83 is mostly a benefit of my batteries.
the batteries cost me under £3,000 so a 15 year life £200 a year so saver sessions cover 40% 3 kWh exported at a premium of 10p kWh 30p a day 180 days £54 another 25% , 5kWh a day 180 days at 10p under SVT £90 45%, so 110% covered and that's ignoring the other benefits of battery

I guess given that its worth a shade over 12p just to opt in, there is no real downside. I was out yesterday but got the WhatsApp alert about six so opted in. Two days running feels a bit odd. Todays WhatsApp has literally just arrived as I was typing this and wondering post or delete.......
