As the article suggests, Erdogan will likely welcome them with open arms. Who is now sucking up to Trump, the man he previously described as an "economic terrorist on social media" in 2018. Oh the irony. Trump sent him this a few months later - they are both ridiculous egomaniacs.

Erdogan is going to be sucking up to Putin, too.
If Putin does get to keep Crimea, it's not a lot of use for naval access without free passage through the Bosphorus straits to allow them out of the Black Sea into the Med. And since Putin is doing good bidirectional military business with Iran, and thereby both Hamas and Hezbollah...
So, yeh, Trump makes for good business opportunities for Erdogan.
Massage that orange ego a bit, then have/eat cake.
Added bonus for Erdogan and Putin: Further instability right on the shores of the EU.
