I make it £34 over 12 months. Think that's wrong. Divided by 100 = 34p!!!! You can keep it SS. Hey, its not peanuts! At 48p, even they are out of your price range Im afraid

roughly 34p extra in total or 3p/month - depends on rounding as SS pays interest based on calendar months not monthly average across year. ilmoro my understanding is that the interest is calculated daily. Therefore monthly payments will vary according to the number of days in the month. So February gets an extra 2p and January etc gets 3p Yes, thats what I was trying to say except my brain froze. Not sure on their rounding though as Feb could be 2p or 3p depending if they round up or not (£222/365*28=£17.030, £222.34/365*28= £17.056) not that it makes any difference really. Probably wont get you a monthly these days

I wonder if the bonus rate is fixed at drawdown or if it will reduce if you sell any loan parts, or conversely increase if you buy on the SM? Selling would put your peanuts at risk, so if you had a peanut mountain then it might be an incentive to stay longer in the loan.

The bonus rate will be paid in full on drawdown and then the standard 12% rate will apply.

Something to consider bloodycat is that this loan is for 12 months, so perhaps a nice place to stash a little and not have to worry about looking for a new place to put it for a year Especially if some people have funds sitting in there and waiting to be invested.

Just a quickie here.
I see that in the Evaluation Report, under "Environmental Matters", it says - They have their land value at £5.2Million. My concern is that it would be worth a hell of a lot less if the soil was contaminated.
This may sound like scaremongering but I have seen a building project scuppered in my city be put on hold for many years due to soil contamination (in this case it was diesel) as it was next to an old railway depot.
I am more than happy to be wrong here and may have misunderstood this report. Just wanted others opinions on this..

Thanks james. Not too aufait within this type of commercial field (excuse the pun) and was a little worried that ones investment could plummet.

My worry about this one is (a) they state they don't yet have a customer for the heat; (b) energy prices are dropping making energy projects much more risky; and (c) even in the best of times CHP plants in the UK were a dodgy proposition due to poor economics and problem with the technology. So if the project folds, the value of the land may well plummet as there may be no other use for it in the short to medium term. I think this one could sink Savingstream if if goes pear shaped
