Hi Guys It's hard to practice your technique to avoid pictures when SM loans only come around once in a blue moon. Below is a demo that works on the exact same code. It’s not just a demo showing you how the re-captcha works, it actually works in the exact same way as the one on the SS website; so it will show PICs when it thinks you are a BOT, and won’t when it thinks you are not. www.google.com/recaptcha/api2/demoBe sure to share your technique to avoid the pictures! Thanks, that was helpful. Definitely had to whitelist the site on Ghostery, though.

How kind of Google to provide a bot training tool! I tried it about a dozen times, and got pictures every time. If it really does allow bypassing the pictures if Google don't think you're a bot, then I must look like a bot to them. And if that's the case, then I'll have no chance of purchasing anything on the SM -- except maybe 1p parts or parts of loans where the time remaining is a negative three-digit number since those do seem to take a bit longer to be bought by others. Has anyone else managed to avoid getting the pictures every time?

I have however managed to successfully invest even when the pictures popping up, so it is possible.

There were about a dozen parts offered for sale in the last hour or so. Not once was I allowed to tick the box and proceed, so that's 100% pictures puzzles. Then, to make matters worse, on most occasions Google decided that one set of pictures wasn't enough to prove I'm not a bot -- so after solving the first puzzle I was presented with another one! I think that raises my pictures puzzle rate to about 160%!

I was bidding when they was appearing, and I got the “select images” every single time. I also (specifically those stupid street signs!) had to take two attempts in some cases. However in that period I did get an about 5 investments. I think most people are getting the pictures, so you’re not alone. You just need to be a tad faster and luckier!

Ever since I joined the madhouse that is SS, a few months ago, I've been trying to get a little piece of the ubiquitous Super Yacht. For no reason other than for the hell of it, and the fact I used to be in the Merchant Navy.
Never got close, until just now, no pics to choose, just ticked the box, (it obviously knows I'm Homo Sapien), and I now have £12 of it. That's enough for me though.
Challenge completed.

Congratulations .. £12 should be almost enough for a (small) shackle?? .. however based on the SS update email today, it looks like your funds may be back with you quite shortly. 8>.

So been away and haven't had time to try this out - so basically a captcha comes up when you click to buy now?

Seems if the system decides you are a bot you may be asked questions, if human just tick a box, I have only had box's to tick but still find I am slow most of the time, could be my dithering that helps class me as human. Having said that I did manage to snag a bit of 054 just after midnight. Mostly I still need to practice.
Obviously it takes longer to buy if you get the questions, last week fighting the bot's I was to slow every time so i suppose it's better.

Perhaps one of the criteria Google reCaptcha uses to decide whether you might be a bot is whether you keep trying to click on the same buttons on the same websites ... which, by definition, would mean the more times you try buying on the SM, the more likely you are to get the pictures.

I've been thinking along this line. In normal cases Google reCaptcha will get used by the same user 2 or 3 times a day tops; but with SS (depending on how active the SM is) you could be using it dozens of times in a matter of minutes which google may decipher as bot behaviour. What’s worse; with other websites with Google reCaptcha implemented you can take your time picking the pictures, but with SS you’re trying to beat others to the investment increasing the chance that you pick the wrong pictures, again giving google the opinion that you may be a bot. Just a tip for people, that may or may not work…… Over the last couple of days I’ve been trying something. Yesterday I switched from my beloved chrome browser, and used (gulp…) Microsoft Edge , and found that for a short period on the SM that I didn’t get any pictures. When I did start to get the “Select all images…” I switched to Firefox, and once again stopped getting the “Select all images…”. It doesn’t last long, but gives you a chance. This morning I’m back on Chrome; I feel like I’ve cheated on her and now I feel dirty.

I agree. The two occasions that I didn't get the pictures were the first time I tried on two separate days. After each of my purchases I got pictures every time.
