And if I do not click the rear of the street sign its also wrong Sigh … I thought this thread had died a quiet death People moaned about BOTS, so SS implemented googles reCAPTCHA, which is really the best they could do on the current platform. Your problem is no longer with SS, but now with Google.

No, if its the street name they give you an example but still get those ones wrong. The money is still available after 3 attempts, but I am missing out because of the feature SS added

Makes one wonder whether Google actually have 100% correct answers.

Makes one wonder whether Google actually have 100% correct answers. They don't. One of the things they use reCaptcha type systems for is training their image recognition / search algorithms.

Google reCAPTCHA advances to the next stage the more that it thinks you are a bot. First you just have to tick the box, then pick some obvious pictures, then 2 lots.
Lastly you get the street signs, which I like to think is googles way of saying "f*** you, your positively a bot". I remember reading that google uses this stage as a way of getting users to point out signs for the purpose of google street view; I'm not sure why.
Unfortunately, the way that we all act on the SM, GOOGLE will always think that we are all BOTS.
I would like to repeat though; this is not SS fault. You all asked for something to be done and SS done it; if you have a complaint maybe you should use the "report a problem" at the bottom of the reCAPTCHA pictures.

I came across a reCaptcha t'other day for about the first time - on another site, I've still not seen any parts for sale on SS... It was streetsigns. Dead easy and quick.

My opinion is that Google is using us to train their street sign recognition software for their self drive cars.

It seems that bots are back after all with loan parts disappearing in as little as 2 seconds.
19:29:53 | [false] 19:47:12 | [true]} 19:47:14 | [false]
And this is not the only example.

I think you have a timing error. I saw:
01/02/2016 19:47:02 01/02/2016 19:47:13 00:00:11
Which is already fast enough, but not 2 seconds (i.e. it was flagged as 'available' rather earlier than 19:47:12)

This is what "Check4Change" running in firefox is reporting. I have no way of verifying these numbers but definitely it was quick, not enough to be able to load the page (and currently it is not particularly slow).

One of the things that Google have done with StreetView that I find most annoying and counterproductive is fuzzing out street signs. So if you get to a junction and there's a signpost there, rather than being able to see what the signpost says all you can see is a blur. How useless! So maybe they're using us to find all those signs for them so that they can automate the fuzzing out process.
