This is what "Check4Change" running in firefox is reporting. I have no way of verifying these numbers but definitely it was quick, not enough to be able to load the page (and currently it is not particularly slow). I wonder how often that actually checks though?

The last part that I sold (yesterday) disappeared "instantly" i.e. by the time that I had loaded the available loans page, which I did immediately after putting the part up for sale, it had gone. I was surprised at the speed but don't really care as I use the SM for disposals only, however, I did notice that the buyer was s**********m.

I too had an "instant" sale yesterday, of around £250 in PBL025. The proceeds appeared as Available Funds literally the same moment that I clicked Sell. I would be impossible (even for a bot) to notice and buy that quickly so I assume it was either: a) the system automatically buying back the part to correct an over-sale / imbalance from earlier, or b) 2 (or more) people simultaneously attempting to buy another part in the same loan at the moment my part appeared.

I think b) is correct. I missed out on a loan part recently that I was going for. It dropped to zero a fraction of a second before I pressed the button to make my purchase. I pressed it anyway just to clear the screen. Surprisingly though I still got what I wanted. I can only assume another part was put online, (maybe someone selling several parts of the same loan, one after another), just as I pressed my button.

I was surprised at the speed ... I too had an "instant" sale yesterday, of around £250 in PBL025. The proceeds appeared as Available Funds literally the same moment that I clicked Sell. I often have a similar experience if I try to buy anything. The Available Loans page updates from "All loans are funded" to show something for sale. I immediately click on the loan name, and by the time the loan page appears a second or two later there's often nothing left to buy. On most of the occasions where there actually is something remaining for sale, I then have to wait for the 'Please tick the box' message to appear, and by the time it does the amount available has gone to zero, so there's no point in ticking the box. On those rare occasions when something's still available after the box appears, I can try to tick the box. The first time I managed to get that far this morning I was presented with ReCaptcha pictures, and the last bit of the loan disappeared while the photos were loading. Have savingstream ever tried buying something on the SM? If so, what was their experience like?

You must be an extremely tough bot.

I guess those were taken by a Google self-drive car with its wheels in the air after a small shunt?!

I saw the Available Loans page had an amount of PBL025 for sale so I clicked on the loan name ticked the box filled in the amount to buy but by the time I had done that the amount available had gone to zero. I left that page open and then saw more become available so pressed the buy button and was successful.

And that, I think, is how you build a bot to beat recaptcha - you make it sit at the 'buy loan xyz' page (which refreshes automatically, the same as the available loans page) until you see some become available, at which point you commit to 'buy'. The recaptcha will time out every 2-3 minutes, and you'll have to refresh it, and to 'Tee it up' in the first place you either need a part for sale (1p will do) or else a little bit of webpage/javascript editing to cause the invest widget and the recaptcha widget to do their thing even though there isn't really any to buy (presumably something like that was what was causing the old website to be persuaded to sell parts it didn't actually have). Purely academic, since I expect there will shortly be rather less of a famine than there has been .. well at least I hope so.

I've scored parts 5 or 6 times that way this week (manually...!!!! ) I first saw it by following an offering, being too slow, watching the total go to £0.00 as i tried to click the piccys, throwing my hands up in disgust; ...... and then noticing the balance change before I got round to bailing back to the available page. 2 clicks. Done. And Relax ........ Obviously it's guesswork when a multi is happening but maybe if someone just bagged a biggish / 'untidy' amount........ the ticket seems good for a couple of minutes at least. Also, I have still not been awarded a free-ride by the Googly Guards......

Investors wanting to reclaim thier money (or reinvest) have to sell the parts they have, so when I start to see something appear I take my time to put my amount in, complete the capture (by then the amount has reached 0.00), wait until a new amount appears and click invest. Just a quick question for people that know about these things, and possibly opening a can of worm; does anybody use imacros to assist getting investments on the SM......?

Just pick a (likely) time to have a go - fumbly fingers and clickety click for half an hour or so. Win some. Or don't. CBA to sit there for hours !

Just for fun while doing other things, I have had SS open since midnight UK time and saw absolutely nothing for sale. Just watching out the corner of my eye, not refreshing. So at 01:30 I put a hundred pounds up just out of curiosity. About 3 seconds flat, gone. That's not just somebody idly watching to see if anything is happening, that somebody getting a refreshed page every second, staring at the screen for hours with a finger poised at 01:30 Sunday morning! I could understand it if things were happening, but it's been dead and they are STILL there with finger poised in the early hours! They must have nearly jumped out of their chair when my hundred quid appeared. This SS lark is causing a little bit of insanity I think.
