He (or she) may be back already, under a new user name and email. It must be almost impossible to ban someone. Perhaps we should have a poll on what his/her new name is. Dude? STOP IT!!! Hang on a minuite.... how do you know that sunspot has been banned geoff ? It's not on his account, and the MODs haven't mentioned it...... you even liked the post yesterday when it was made

Whilst some of his views have not always been met with universal agreement he absolutely has the right to express them on this forum. This would be a bit of a boring place if everyone agreed with each other and people were afraid to express anything other than anodyne views.

He had a two-week warning in January, and didn't take the hint. What else were the mods to do? Whether you agree with their decision is not really the point. They're the mods, and their decision is final.

....was just blocked when I tried to buy more than £10k on the secondary market. (Loan parts held are more than £10k).What error message did you get? I assume you were not doing what you suggested above and bidding >£10K on a loan of <£10K. As nobody else has posted this, the error message given is: (with the same style as the "Oops..." that sometimes tells you to tick the not-a-robot box) This occured when entering £15000 into the box for a loan with £100 on sale, and did NOT result in a purchase of the £100, so the check clearly occurs BEFORE the check for how much is on offer (and thus whether to reduce your order).

I don't want to turn this into a thread about sunspot; but I think he was banned because of his behaviour when people disagreed with his opinions, not because his opinions differed from everybody. There are many disagreements on these forums in regards to SS, the SM, PF etc, etc. It's important to have differing views, and it important to respect those differing views which I hope the vast majority of us do. No doubt, that sometimes threads may descend into unconstructive arguments which doesn't help anybody, but we must accept that these will sometimes happen. With sunspot EVERY thread he got involved or started descended into an argument, and he was all to happy to fuel the fire.

Bidding >£10k on a loan <£10K may result in some sort of conflict in the code. But this needs someone prepared to buy it if needs be so not me.

Just tried it myself, and it worked fine, wonder if they've fixed it? An amount above my loan book value returned the error message you got with no action, and an amount just below my loan book value (in excess of £10k) purchased the shrapnel. Now lets just hope someone buys it off me soon. .

It looks like that was a bug which has been fixed in the last few minutes, because: 1. Investor Activity on PBL060 now shows a £25k transaction. 2. Repeating the above test (for a loan with a low amount I'm prepared to buy) resulted in purchasing the relevant loan part. Edit: ... but entering £100000 instead (far in excess of my account balance) resulted in the error message again, so the check still exists, but seemed to have been implemented incorrectly to start with.

Sunspots are temporary phenomena which appear visibly as dark spots on the surface, sometimes connected to fluctuating solar wind. Anagrams of solar are interesting.
