Wonder if the next administraion (or whatever you want to call it), will be a liberal as the previous. I think there will be a lurch to the right unfortunately.

We need to talk about PENNY....she's growing more popular by the day and I feel like I'm slowly going mad. What has she ever done to warrant this or it is just a case of the other bad apples sinking to the bottom leaving her to float on top. Rishi is the shoo-in for this job - we just need a fiscally competent try-hard who's not a massive liar at this point. He's the only person who fits that. Why Penny?

Bimey, Zahawi and Hunt out. Sunak tops the round. Braverman made it through.

I know her by name, but otherwise she barely registers on the 'what has she done/what does she think' scales.

What do you make of their policies? I did say something about what Penny might do. None of them have well defined policies yet but I believe we are voting for their approach to policy rather than detailed policy at this stage. Their overall approach is unlikely to change and it is that which will guide policy going forwards. In particular, Penny and several others don't seem to give two hoots to the working class north. They will certainly lose the red wall and quite possibly the next election. BB: I'm on the fence about Boris but probably slightly in favour of keeping him for now. Irrelevant now of course.that's interesting, because I'm pretty sure sometime back you were then sitting in the 'Boris must go' camp, thanks to the general attitude, lack of integrity, and particularly disregard for covid rules etc. I may have misread it, or perhaps you changed your mind.

That's a very unusual use of the word "liberal". Eh? Are you high? Well, by "previous", I assumed you meant Johnson's government. So if you think they're "liberal"...

I know what james100 is referring to. The playing on racial prejudice lie. Penny Mordaunt, she was made Defence Secretary a couple of years ago and people said, yeah, used to be in the army. But she was ditched in short order. If she had been shaping up to be good at the first major cabinet job she had got, I would have thought she would have been kept on.

I just couldn't really square your comments about being anti Dishy Rishi (god that's not aged well) thanks to his playing Brutus* with what I was sure was you having moved to the point it was time to drag Boris off to the knacker's yard. *(though I thought anyway it was Javid that pulled the trigger first).

Brexit and not associated with bringing down Johnson is my guess. I don't like her either.

I wouldn't listen to people ... she is a Navy Reservist (not army & never a regular)... I suspect being the first female Armed Forces minister was more of a factor. She has worked in multiple depts including cabinet posts of Int Dev & Defence so is actually the most experienced candidate. Getting sacked by Boris might be considered a bonus by some.
