c88dnf I gave my mum my old XP PC several years ago. This year I replaced it with a second-hand Windows 7 PC for all of £150. It is so much faster and more reliable that she is much happier and I've had to spend much less time on IT support. Win win. Nevertheless you are right, they should continue supporting XP for now. Cheers pikestaff. Lest some see me as simply stubborn, I did work in the IT industry for a long time (too long!) and I'm acutely aware of the need to communicate changes to end users BEFORE they happen. That applies particularly if some platforms will no longer be supported, or adversely affected. Ratesetter have let themselves down badly on this one. Bottom line: how many borrowers may be unable to use Ratesetter as they can't access the website easily? If the answer exceeds zero, the change is a bad one for me as a lender!

Especially so any borrowers who are referred to the site through a third-party introducer - or did RateSetter give these advance notice of the new URLs for when applications are referred across?

Just logged in to see what all the fuss is about. Not keen. My main problem is that NONE of the (+) and (-) tabs on the right actually open or close anything. Nothing works. This means I can no longer access any of the portfolio summary, see loan offers to adjust them, see what's matched recently etc.
That's pretty much useless. Please provide a link to the old site!

Lucy has received a short email from me, letting her know (politely) that she has put her name to a grade A cock-up. Lucky you, I tried to mail her on a previously working address, bounced back as no such recipient ... so went via the contact-us address.

oldgrumpy - "It's at the top right, white on purple.... now says "sign out" (did it say "log out" before?)"
Thank you. I know where it was before (yes, "sign out" - you're right), but I cannot see it on the new website. I have now managed to find it by blindly moving the cursor around, but I still can't see it because it is white on white. There are three bullet point lines in the top left corner: one is for 'welcome', one is for 'view ratesetter notices' and the third is blank, but "clickable" and it turns out to be the sign out button.
All very shoddy and unprofessional. I have also sent an email to Lucy.

So come on westonkevRS, how about a bit of feedback to us loyal lenders from inside RS as to what the hell you think you are doing with this naff naff naff implementation. Did someone really think that we would like it?

I also just logged in, primarily for entertainment value. W7, Firefox. I'd love to be joining in the clamour but it ain't that bad (in my setup). However: HAS RS DECIDED THAT ALL ITS USERS ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED AND NEED EVERYTHING PRESENTED A TOUCH ON THE LARGE SIZE, WITH LOTS OF WHITESPACE TO MAKE IT CLEAR. If it has, why on earth is it rendering washed out purplish text on a white background Sorry, for those who can't read that, I meant to say why is it rendering washed out purplish text on a white background.
Other than that, the bits I poked in at are ok. I didn't have mikeb's problems of + - not working for example. So not quite the complete mess I was half expecting (in my setup).
I think you kids are spoilt: obviously weren't around for the TC website relaunch late last year....now THAT'S what I call an IT ******************.
Now, what about a bit of pre-release user testing on multiple platforms/devices ? And conducting an eye test in the chosen corporate branding colours.

Fuuny I dont seem to be having a problem with the text colour. Perfectly readable on Windows 7/IE & Android tablet. Sign out button is white on purple & very clear (once youve found it by scrolling across This sizing is a whole different matter. The fact that the login boxes are so big that the actual login button isnt visible on a 10" tablet screen is just bonkers. Font size 65 for the headers is ridiculous (cant use it here as not available in the forums settings with good reason)

I think Westonkev is either hiding under a flat rock some-place, or else has defected to Zopa?! 8>.
Hmm, maybe the new RS website was sponsored by, and designed by, one of their competitors. That'd explain a lot, wouldn't it. At least all my stored links seem to work, so if they broke that they must have fixed it, but the graphics design (misusing the word, loosely) remains terrible on every machine, OS, and browser I've tried so far.

A further update, again primarily for westonkevRS and RS' developers. After extensive testing this evening, I have found the following: 1) The problems various of us have experienced are not XP related. My mother's old XP laptop (1024 x 768 resolution) displays the new screens very happily - assuming you can put up with having to scroll all over the place. So, possibly specific graphics calls which have characteristics some cards tolerate and others don't? 2) The new layout appears to work fine on Windows 8.1. At least on my daughter's laptop's graphics card. 3) The new layout works OK on a no-name Chinese Android tablet (8 inch screen; Android 4.2.2), but there is a vast amount of (wasted) white space. 4) The new layout has issues on a Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android 4.3) phone. Some text headers conflict with general text items (overwrite them). The login button is completely hidden from view on the main screen. Hitting an unlabelled and not very intuitive icon top left of the main screen brings up an options menu on the left of the screen. Scroll down that menu and you (eventually) find the login button. From thereon it's straightforward. Presumably the login screen can be stored as a "favourite", but why make it so hard to find? All the platforms tested worked perfectly before the recent update, with no scrolling required. Net: problems have been created where none existed before. That's failure, not improvement.

Well I was and I agree it is not on the same snafu scale as TC managed to achieve, everything is infact working as it should as far as I can see. The only problem is the horrible horrible graphics
with loads of
wasted space
and all the damn scrolling

I guess the white space is to help fat fingers on tablets/smartphones but for me the ONE thing i glance at first (last matched rates) is now obscured and requires a scroll. At least there is only one colour - Funding Knight did a similar thing to its previously-nice interface but had a myriad of colours assaulting the eye along with feint type and overlarge blocks.
It takes a brave person to argue to enthused web designers and CEOs that a website doesn't have to be destroyed by design and that tweaks can be good

Somewhat off topic, but Santander has just "improved" their website. It has some of the same characteristics: lots of scrolling just to see what used to be easily on the screen.
Has some manipulative salesman done a bargain dodgy job on web design packages?

Finally the acronym makes sense. RSI now stands for Rate Setter Interface

Ahh, I've fathomed it out. There's over 200K in 5 yr market at 6.2% or less when yesterday 6.3% was flying out the door. It obviously works much better if you are willing to offer lower rates.
