Why does the sign up page want to log you into google drive? I don't have a gmail account and it is defaulting to my partners which is not registered on the octopus account! Have you tried this new link? forms.gle/ZBYeu9ye3xx9ArbeA

Not exactly plain English.
Free Electricity... what's the catch?
During these super-green sessions, all the electricity you'd normally use will cost the same. Any extra power you use won't cost a thing.

If you normally use 1kwh (a lot in that time slice) but use 2kwh tomorrow in the period, you'll still only be charged for 1kwh. That is my reading of it. Seems fairly simple to me, just not quite what the headline might imply.

Not that I'm poo pooing it.

Thanks. I couldn't sign up via that link, it implied that some quota was full, but I did get an email link later that allowed me to register.

Have you tried this new link? forms.gle/ZBYeu9ye3xx9ArbeADid the same thing, pre populated my partners gmail address. Managed to sign up on a computer not linked to any gmail accounts and when doing that it was happy to proceed without one but on my PC, once the gmail address was populated, I couldn't remove it.

Where in your account can you see if you've signed up? I had a confirmation message after signing up but when returning to my dashboard it still has the "opt in" button. With the winter save electric opt in it used to tell you you've opted in. I don't want juggle my day round if I'm not signed up.

I had an email timed at 11am ish but probably had the same on the website as you describe. signed up again 'just because'. Working on the theory that if they don't refund I will have the email as proof. So I would advise waiting for the email. Seems they are not using the Whatsapp option on these. They always seem a bit glitchy with most things they do.

They have too much electicity and want you to use as much as you can, if you save the electricity they will have even more which is an embarrasment to them

I think I've seen a once you opt in you are always in somewhere For me not as profitable as the saver sessions in the winter but I think I made about £1.20 on the last one. Will be similar this time as I will run washing machine and dishwasher and will be topping battery up after pushing some out before hand

No — once you’re signed up on the form above, you don’t need to opt in each time. We’ll send you email notifications the day before telling you when to use more power and you don’t need to do anything else."
It also states " (you can check if you've signed up in your online dashboard or app)." This is what I cannot see anywhere.

Which energy provider will be the first to offer me an increased kw/h charge instead if smoke and mirrors charging with standing charges. I will pay for usage not just to have a product to my door. As I very said before, encouraged to use less and be green but if revenue drops they will recover it elsewhere.
