just received this email:-
"Dear Adrian,
On behalf of the company, we would like to apologise for the IT issue on Friday that impacted our ability to undertake certain banking transactions.
We can confirm that this issue has now been resolved, and all investor accounts have been credited accordingly.
We are very sorry again for the frustration and inconvenience that this has caused.
Kind regards
Paul"
No mention about withdrawals but I guess everyone's been rushing around sorting out the credit issue. I'll give them til later this afternoon before asking about my withdrawal

I'm with Lloyds, i haven't worried about it (yet), I've learnt that "immediate" is subject to interpretation as far as SS are concerned :-) Hey! Bill! It's not "immediate" that needs to worry you... it's when they say "imminent" you need to be liberal in your expectations.

The multiple deposit of the same size problem has been mentioned on the forum a few times before. If you vary the size a bit each time (£1001 and £999) it might help.

About a month ago I made multiple deposits for the same amount from the same bank account, and the SS processing threw a toal wobbler and my wife and I didn't get our SS accounts credited for a few days. It so happens that another forumite also had the exact same issue. Just ensure that your multiple deposits are for different amounts (even slightly) and I'm pretty sure the problem will disappear. Of course the problem would also disappear is SS got their act together and sorted it out a their end , but ......

Do they allow accounts in different people's names to be funded from the same bank account, could SS be aiding tax avoidance? Don't think so in and of itself. Perfectly fine for example for a husband and wife with joint account where one makes loads and the other doesn't work to shuffle their investments around to minimise their tax and take advantage of the low earner's allowances. The only people who they'd need to watch out for are the tax evaders but chances are they are defrauding SS as much as they are HMRC. That said from memory all SS did by way of diligence on my bank account was once I had funded from there I could withdraw to there, although it will show up with my actual name on the transfer when they receive it so if it suddenly started coming from an account with no obvious links to my registered name I would hope as a regulated business they would raise some queries about that...

My wife and I both have SS accounts, and they are both funded from the same bank account. However it is a joint bank account . I'm not sure whether it would be permissible from a bank account solely in my own name ?

Also a yes, I fund two accounts (no relation) from my FP bank account but withdraw to two separate, as registered, accounts which each get their own YE statements for tax purposes.

Has the bank run gone through or were the purchases just from lenders reneging on their dfl17 obligations?
